State of the queue

Pedestrian crosswalk showing WAIT

March 17th update

This faux promo ad on our instagram has its basis in reality of course.

List of queue lengths at various planespotting sites

How long do you need to wait for feedback from the two most popular plane spotting photo databases? Think really carefully about which photo you’re submitting. If you’re a new user to either airliners.net (you get 2 queue slots) or jetphotos.com (you get 5 slots), the wait is currently weeks. Our team will check at as close to 1600Z on Sundays and update this weekly. This isn’t an exact science. The number of photos at Airliners.net is lower, but there are presumably fewer screeners too. Disclaimer: past performance does not predict future performance. This is retrospective, i.e. photos being screened today are from n days ago.

But they’re volunteers!!

I’ll admit… Gasp the screening tool here isn’t exactly ‘good’ either (to those that got offended it rejected your photos: learn to read), but also check out the post on variance and the statistical curiousity of screening.

Kudos to the volunteer screeners. As far as they will say, they are not paid for their work.
